Farmer wins caravan dispute and another site for our Caravan Insurance Customers is expanded!
A south Wiltshire farmer has won a long battle for the right to allow more caravanners to use his site. Martin Blandford, who owns White Hill Farm in Pitton, has used part of his land for the past 15 years to provide facilities for around ten tents and five caravans, reported the Salisbury Journal. It looked as though that would be the way things would stay after his application in September 2007 for more land to be given over to holidaymakers was rejected by the local council. However, a second application was more successful and Mr Blandford will this year be hoping to see an additional 20 pitches being used in two small fields. Mr Blandford said that he was relieved and that work had already started on the landscaping. “A new shower and toilet block will be built and although I have had to turn away some caravanners and campers who wanted to stay over Easter, I am confident the work will be done in time for this year’s main holiday season” he told the Salisbury Journal. South Wiltshire is a popular spot for caravanners, with Salisbury, Stonehenge, the New Forest and the south coast all within easy reach.
