Whether you are touring with the caravan abroad or storing it on a registered caravan association site you should make sure you have covered your caravan with touring caravan insurance. Touring caravan insurance can be confusing at the best of times with all the different levels of cover for example – market value or new for old cover. Touring caravan insurance can become very complicated when you read through details of the policy cover, especially when towing then caravan. The reason for this is that whilst towing the caravan, the car insurance will cover any 3rd party risks and it is not covered under the touring caravan insurance as this is not necessary. The touring caravan insurance will still cover any damage that may occur to the caravan whilst being towed. Touring caravan insurance is sometimes made compulsory by some caravan storage sites, this will cover any damage that caravans may cause in various situations e.g. storms or floods. In these kinds of circumstances, caravans may cause damage to other caravans, vehicles or even buildings. This is why touring caravan insurance is occasionally made compulsory by caravan storage sites and I’m sure you would rather have touring caravan insurance than not.
