There are many ways in which you could be trying to save money with the recent credit crunch. There is always a possibility of saving yourself money when your motor insurance renewal is due up. You can do this by telephoning and comparing different motorhome insurance companies to obtain the best/cheapest quotation. Many motorhome insurance companies may differ in the level of cover and premiums, it is important to ensure you cover yourself for what you think is appropriate and more. Most motorhome insurance companies should include the basic level of cover including – fire, theft and public liability. If the time comes when you do need to make a claim, you are going to want to be covered for as many risks as possible, for example there may be an accident where legal complications may develop and for this you would need legal expenses cover; if this is not covered in your policy, this could become very costly. Motorhome insurance providers will do their best to offer you the lowest premium, especially if you make them compete with other companies. When purchasing motorhome insurance, you mustn’t presume larger companies will offer you the best cover and claims service. Motorhome insurance will not be their core business, so they may not include some aspects of cover such as continental cover or there may be restrictions on this. Motorhome insurance policies don’t have to be confusing or complicated; your best option may even be to speak directly with an insurer or broker to guarantee you are getting the cover you require.

I am pleased to announce that Cover4Caravans has agreed a sponsorship deal with the UK Motorhome & Caravan Spring Fair for a 2 year period for us to be the main even sponsor.

This event will run over the weekend of the 28th & 29th March 2009 in Newark at the Newark Showground in Nottinghamshire.

We have agreed to this deal because the event organiser is honest, open and es enthusiastic about the show as are about the Caravan Insurance World.

We will be offering some disocunts and “show specials” and you should watch this space for more information.

You can visit their site at www.ukspringfair.co.uk for more details.

I think it is true that as you get older the weeks go quicker! This weekend I am not going to my beloved Daggers (oh ill never live it down!) as I’m going to Romford Dogs, an early birthday celebration.

As we come to the end of the year, Touring Caravan Insurance becomes quieter and we have been hard at work on our Renewals and planning for next year. Hopefully we will have some exciting innovations agreed for 2009 very soon! We had our Monthly Team Meeting this week to discuss Octobers statistics, we had a good month on Touring Caravan Insurance and our best ever month on Static Caravan Insurance, so we must be doing something right. We also achieved our Renewal Targets which was down to lots of hard work and listening to what our Clients want.

As ever, we are available between 9 to 5pm on the usual number.

Enjoy your weekend!

Hi, just a couple of points I’d like to mention today as they do regularly come up on our Touring Caravan Insurance Scheme. Customers often ask about our security requirements, as this is the cause of much anxiety at the time of a claim. On our Touring Caravan Insurance Scheme you will notice that we mention Hitchlocks and Wheel Clamps as our recommended forms of security. The most often asked question is “do you require a particular make” and I would like to clarify that there are no specific make/models required by us, as long as they work they should keep you safe!

We also do not ask that you have a Tracker on our Touring Caravan Insurance, as these are often expensive and occasionally impractical. Obviously Caravans are a big financial commitment and you may wish to put more security on for your peace of mind, but this is not mandatory under our Scheme.

I hope this clears things up!

How much should I insure my caravan for?

Your static caravan should either be insured for the market value or the recommended retail price at that time, (for new for old cover). New for old cover can apply if your static caravan is within 3 years of manufacture, if your caravan is more than 3 years old, the caravan must be insured at market value price as the static caravan insurance policy will only cover for this.

Does the static caravan insurance cover verandas and decking?

If this is included in the static caravan sum insured, then yes, the static caravan insurance would cover verandas and decking.

Will the static caravan insurance cover site clearance fees and re-siting costs?

This would also be covered in the static caravan insurance policy, as long as this is included in the static caravan sum insured.

Does the static caravan insurance allow the caravan to be hired out?

The static caravan insurance would allow for the caravan to be hired out. The insurance will also cover any loss of hiring charges.

What is the limit of indemnity on the static caravan insurance policy?

The static caravan insurance policy has public liability cover of up to £2,000,000.This can cover risks such as:

  • Bodily injury to any person other than you or a domestic employee; or
  • Loss or damage to property which you (or your domestic employees) do not own or have legal responsibility for.
