It is Thursday. Today sees me undertaken appraisals with my key staff and this time I am susing a new system of not writing them first. I will be sitting down and writing them with the team member and I am looking forward to taking the journey together rather than delivering what always previously seemed to meto be a school report. I hope all my research and effort pays off. Today I will find out!
Tomorrow sees the end of the week and my eldest son breaks up for a well needed break, he attends Sunnymede Infant School in Billericay and he has been undertkaing his Year 2 SATS over the last few weeks. As always his class teacher and her assistant have been working hard and continue to guide him on his journey – they really do a great job.
I actually have two days off next week and we have some good plans, retail therapy, zoo, Adventure Island, swimming etc. One has to ask yourself am I off on holiday as we will be rushing around like the fools we are!
Sophie, one of my Cover4 team members has been doing some great research and work on the “sensitive” subject of insuring Hobby Caravans and she has produced some proposals which we will be presenting to Underwriters shortly – maybe this will finally enable us to offer cover for these caravans. I hope so.
Well, Watford stayed up and my other team, Dagenham & Redbridge, find themselves travelling to Wembley this weekend. I have decided not to go as it would be another day away from the family and they have to come first as I am so busy at work I am well aware how much I have been neglecting them. I do hope they end up in League 1 next season.
My torn tendons in my elbows are really healing now and I think we are almost back to normal – it has been a long 6 months of physio and pain I can tell you. Lesson learnt – listen to your body, don’t ignore it!
Avatar – watched it on DVD last night, what was all the fuss about? OK the CGI were great but the story was so damn predictable. Boy meets girl, boy betrays them, brings down death then rebels and saves the world. Dull.
On a positive note I went to see Nicholas Cage’s new file at the weekend, Bad Lieutenant, and it was really good. he put in a great performance and I really enjoyed myself. See it fi you like drugs, violence and an unpredictable story line!
Finally I found myself listening to Phil Collin’s “Both Sides” this morning and although far from his most popular album I personally like it but I always forget that it is not the most uplifting of albums and it really should come with a warning – “If you are happy think carefully before you listen to these tracks”!
Have a great day.
Richard
As you know I am into blogging about Phil Collins at the moment and I am still keeping my beady eye on any signs of him appearing in the UK – sadly no dates or venues have been released.
I cannot believe that he may well be choosing to forget his UK fan bases by not putting on one of his “new album” promotion gigs over here.
Realistically I am just being my usual impatient self – but that is one of my traits.
There is lots going on here at Cover4Caravans and we are working very hard behind the scenes especially on the content of this blog and our website – there are some good pages and articles being put live and I hope you are going to enjoy them.
Tonight sees the members of the Cover4 team making presentations about the information they have each found out about one of our competitors – I am really looking forward to seeing what they have each found out and seeing the presentation styles they have opted for. We are then off for dinner – a small thank you for the work they have put into this project.

Dear All
Well we did get a VERY hot weekend didn’t we? I still got out and about but not for long, we were enjoying time in the garden while we can.
Tonight sees our Team Meeting and we are going for a bite to eat afterwards, I think the other half is a bit jealous so I am taking her out on Thursday night and taking some time off tomorrow afternoon to enjoy some time with the family. It is also a friends 30th birthday celebration on Friday so a few drinks is in order, I have mine in 18 months so I am not ribbing him too much.
After that I am seeing some friends and having a Chinese on Saturday and then the biggie…..Dagenham & Redbridge in the League 2 Play Off final on Sunday at 3pm. This is the biggest game in our history and I am already nervous about it, though the boys have had an excellent season nonetheless and we were not expected to be there. Well done John and the lads.
After all that it’s a relaxing Bank Holiday with the family to see the Southend Air Show.
We had an excellent day yesterday on new business and we expect a bumper couple of weeks due to the upcoming holiday, I hope if you are out touring this weekend that you enjoy yourselves.
Mike
When you have phoned around or collected a few quotes on the internet, your next task may be to compare caravan insurance policies. Whether your caravan is a touring, static caravan or a motorhome, there are some questions that may be useful to ask about the cover available.
How much is it?
The price of caravan cover insurance may be the first thing that jumps out at you when you are collecting quotes. But the first price that is quoted to you may not be the most competitive rate available from that particular provider. When you compare caravan insurance offers you may wish to enquire whether discounts are available for:
What cover will you get for your money?
The list of risks covered by a caravan insurance policy may seem long and frightening, and both you and your insurer hope that none of them will affect you. However, it may be worth reviewing the list of insured perils when you compare caravan insurance quotes, to get an idea of how the different insurers measure up.
A typical policy may cover:
Policies may cover both the contents and the structure of the caravan, although you may wish to check the exclusions and limitations that apply. For instance, claims for a single item under the contents cover may be limited to a particular amount, which may be worth bearing in mind if you are considering taking pricy items with you on holiday.
Other terms and conditions that may be worth reading carefully include what the insurer expects of you. For example, if you have a static caravan, winter cover may only be available if you drain the heating system, to reduce the risk of damage caused by water in the pipes.
Similarly, when you compare caravan insurance quotes you may wish to look at the finer details like the excess different providers put on claims. An excess is effectively the lowest claim an insurer will consider. If your caravan suffers damage that costs less than that amount to repair, the cost will have to come from your own funds.
What can we do for you?
If you are looking for insurance caravan comparisons and want to speak to someone rather than compare caravan cover online, our staff can help you compare caravan insurance policies. With our friendly and efficient service, our UK based team can discuss your caravan cover options, finding you specialist cover that gives you the protection you need and at a price that won’t upset your bank manager!
Good morning
Yes the weather men and women are predicting a hot weekend ahead for us to enjoy, I suppose this means I shall be in the garden as the grass is overgrowing! Dagenham may have lost last night but we are through to Wembley on Sunday week, though I suspect I won’t be going as Bank Holiday weekends are for relaxing with the family and Southend is hosting the annual Air Show at the time.
A quick word on the “Assistant Referee” for last nights game, how was that offside? That was the worst decision I have seen in a while, though I shouldn’t grumble as we were comfortably through anyway. Great conga from our fans who enjoyed the occasion.
We expect a busy time in the office next week as with a Bank Holiday comes lots of Caravan Insurance queries, purchases and Renewals. We as always keen to help wherever we can, our job is to help you to the best of our ability.
We have a team meal on Tuesday which will be nice to get everyone together for a bonding session, but not too much drink as we have work Wednesday! I have been doing staff one to ones this week which is nice from a development point of view and they can express any concerns or successes they have had.
Enjoy your weekend
Mike
