Dear All
I seem to remember writing some articles on the site about claims some time ago, as a broker it is not easy as we have to liase with insurers on your behalf if you encounter problems (thankfully a rare occurrence as our Insurers are particularly good) but I was delighted to receive a compliment from one of our clients on the Caravannin4u forum today.
It is an unfortunate situation that sometimes things do not go to plan, it is just human error. However, it is at these times that dealing with a broker can be beneficial.
See below the comments..
“Had to make a claim for some fairly minor damage to our van – got the run around from the claims dept of the insurers. Spoke to Mike at Cover4, the broker, today who gave me a direct contact at the insurance co and now all sorted. Basically their junior staff messed it up. Got an email earlier apologising for mess up and the go ahead for the repairs. Thanks Mike- renewed my faith that there are people out there who care
”
It is always nice to receive a compliment as we at Cover4Caravans have the experience, the knowledge and most importantly the passion to care about what we do. It is why I am so proud of the Team here and we continue to show how important customer service is to us.
Thanks
Mike
Well, it is a few days now since I applied for my tickets to attend the live TV recording of an evening with Phil Collins which is going to be recorded on the 28th June 2010 at 6.30pm at ITV’s London Studios.
The applications only went in Saturday but I thought we may have heard by now if we had been selected, there is less than a week to go now and I can’t believe they will leave it much longer to let you have the good news.
However you pretend not to be bothered I cannot deny that deep down there remains a burning desire to be selected and to be one of the lucky ones to see this show being recorded – I have not applied for TV tickets before so the whole process is a little odd if you ask me!
Anyhow another week has started, we had a busy day yesterday with some training and coaching and then I had to rush off to attend a Governor’s meeting at the Junior School so by the time I got home I managed all of abouyt 30 minutes with my children – not really long enough at all.
On a diffferent subject I have just purchased a TomTom Start Europe Sat Nav – I cannot beleive how small it is, it also has an air vent mount which is just so cool as I have terrible problems with the stupid windscreen mounts – these just keep braking on me.
By the way never, ever by an RAC sat nav – mine is rubbish, the widnscreen mount has broken and it take sabout 2 hours to actually find the GPS signal – hence the need to buy a new one.
Have a good day.
Richard
Good morning
Well today is my first day back after my week off with the family which was excellent and very relaxing, the Team did very well in my absence and I am very proud of them all. Prouder of my Team than a certain Mr Capello probably is anyway!!! I watched the first truly engaging performance last night, which was Brazil against Ivory Coast, they did put on a bit of a show. England are on again on Wednesday and I am off to watch the game, though at the moment I don’t feel confident.
Still can’t believe Dagenham are in League One even after the fixtures came out, Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsbrough! Our entire ground could fit into their away stand!
Well mother in law is down on Friday so I will be out with my lady, not sure where to go but will be fun. My son is already in a rebellious phase, he strops quite a lot at the moment, never mind.
Well enjoy your week
Mike
Whether you have a touring caravan, a static or a motorhome, when it comes to insurance renewal time, taking a couple of minutes to compare caravan insurance quotes may typically be a good idea.
Doing it differently
You may have found in the past that hunting around for a better insurance deal could turn out to be a bit of a waste of time.
While it may or may not be fair, some companies appear to value attracting new customers more than they do retaining existing ones. You may have noticed great deals available to potential customers that seemed to vanish into thin air when you, as an existing loyal customer, tried to renew your caravan insurance.
Chances are that in the past you may just have signed up again rather than face the prospect of doing the rounds of insurance providers to see if they could offer you any better deals.
However, if you do compare caravan insurance quotes (particularly via a specialist caravan cover website or over the telephone) you may now have almost instantaneous access to competitive caravan insurance deals.
Not just price
When you set out to buy anything, one of your most important considerations is typically going to be the price.
When it comes to insurance though, it may be misleading to base your comparison on price alone since no two caravan insurance policies are likely to provide exactly the same level of cover.
Some policies may have features that you may think are essential while others may not. Some may offer discounts for caravan club membership or for having a particular type of security alarm installed.
Finding the policy most appropriate for your own particular caravan and circumstances may be a whole lot easier if you can see all of these alternatives at a glance.
The grass may well be greener
There’s no real reason to doggedly stick to your old insurance caravan provider out of misplaced loyalty that may typically not be reciprocated. If you compare caravan insurance quotes you may be making your first steps towards that great deal of your own.
You may not normally think of insurance in exactly affectionate terms! Yet the chances are that by contrast you are fond of your caravan. Caravan insurance cover may be one way of ensuring that it is protected.
Caravans are precious
Irrespective of the type of caravan you have, it is probably an important aspect of your life.
Whether you have a tourer, motorhome, trailer tent or static caravan, it may play a significant part in your annual leisure activities. If it is damaged or out-of-action then your holidays and short breaks may be severely affected.
That’s one reason why caravan insurance cover may be so important – it typically allows you to pay for the restoration of your vehicle quickly so as to make it available to you again as fast as possible.
The other reason is, of course, financial! If you are not insured when your caravan suffers a misfortune then your bank balance may suffer severely.
Different types – different insurance
Each of the caravan types will have risks unique to it. So, for example, you’re not very likely to have a road traffic accident with your static caravan!
Therefore there are policies designed for each of the major classes of caravan.
These policies are typically not transferable. So for example, you could not use a trailer tent policy to provide cover for your tourer caravan.
In fact if you significantly change the patterns of your usage of the caravan, it might be sensible to check with the caravan insurance provider to see if there are any implications. An example may include if you start renting out your caravan to others for holiday use.
Caravan insurance UK for externals and internals
Caravans are different to a car. They provide accommodation and typically contain furnishings, fixtures and fittings. When you’re using them on holiday they may also contain a relatively large amount of your personal belongings including possibly some expensive items.
Caravan insurance cover needs to cater for damage to the external elements of your caravan, such as its bodywork and structure, against things such as accidents and environmental problems such as storms and flood.
It also needs to offer you protection against theft and vandalism to those contents and internal fixtures, which may prove expensive to repair or replace.
The good news is that getting good value cover for your caravan need not be a time consuming exercise. It’s typically easy to obtain an online quotation for caravan insurance cover from the websites of specialist providers such as ourselves where you can also view a range of options for policies and benefits.
