Hello
The weekends over already, and what an eventful weekend I had. Me and my partner Simon ventured up to Witham for my nephews 3rd Birthday party on Saturday, with the birthday boy obsessed with Toy Story 3 at the moment we had buzz light year and Woody driving everyone mad. But as they say its all for the kids.
Then Sunday quickly loomed and we planned to go on a fishing trip in Leigh-on-sea with another couple, it was one of the scariest episodes I have ever experienced. First off we put the sails up far too early which made us drift into a big chunk of cement, then we managed to get off this bit and drifted further away and was then caught on a grassy verge. Luckily we were saved by two fellow sailors, and managed to break free. But as we were so out of control we couldnt help them break free from the verge, which was quite amusing as now we were free and they were all stuck. We finally got the outboard working and ditched the idea of sailing, and off we went out to sea, as the tide was so strong we only went out a little way and started to get a bit worried so we turned around and went back to the mooring. To be honest I didn’t care at last I was safe, or so I thought. We did a bit of fishing and crabbing caught about 5 crabs and 2 Sea Bass which was quite good. The tide was going back out so we had to move quite quickly and get back into the dinghy, so in a bit of a rush I put all my belongings in the boat and tried to hop in. Those of you who have seen me would know I am not the tallest of people and managed to get my leg caught, so I had one leg in the main boat one leg in the dinghy, all was well until a large gust of wind came and the dinghy was rapidly taken away from the boat and I almost did the splits. Luckily I managed to jump back into the boat and save myself from falling into the water (that would not have been fun), but now I have a lovely black bruise on the inside of my leg. But its all part of the fun isn’t it.
Hopefully we will have a few more Parkhome quotes this week, its all a bit of a wait and see game when a new scheme takes place. But I am sure Sian our Parkhome Guru will have not trouble in converting our first one this week…….no pressure.
Take Care
