You may be one of those people who may think that one of the main areas where economies could be made, especially when times are so tight, is in caravan insurance. If that is the case and you are looking to save some money by buying cheap tourer caravan insurance, there may be a few points that you may wish to consider:
Yes we have made the leap and you can now find us on Twitter – @cover4caravans. Search for us and follow – lots of interesting stuff going on and obviously an insight into what we are getting up to.
The week has been very busy and I must admit I have been busy building our Twitter posts and getting this moving forward.
Today see’s a trip into London and lunch with one of our leading Caravan Insurance Claims Departments – we have to make sure the season went well and thank them for all their hard work. They have certainly earned their lunch this year as always!
The weather is simply glorious and I hope you are all going to make the most of it this weekend!

Several news sites are discussing the potential boom weeks ahead in 2012, for caravan owners that are within any sort of travelling distance to the London Olympics.
Just one example of the coverage may be found on a recent BBC news report*.
Apparently, as conventional accommodation is filling up fast, there may be a 2-3 week boom for those renting caravans in the South East. In fact, given that some from overseas may wish to extend their stay either side of the Olympics for general sightseeing and holidaymaking, it may be a boom month or so!
Good news as that may be, it’s important to keep in mind that cashing in on the economic fallout of the Olympics may necessitate a little thought and preparation beforehand.
This article cannot provide qualified legal advice but it may pay to check carefully your legal obligations if you are renting out your caravan. It may also be very worthwhile checking your caravan insurance if this will be the first time you have every rented your caravan out. Some policies may include some forms of insurance cover for rental situations but others may not.
Whether they do or so not, it may also be highly advisable to specifically check your third-party liability cover. People may be becoming increasingly litigious and that may be particularly the case with some overseas visitors.
If they suffer an injury or damage to their property, which they believe is attributable to your caravan and related negligence on your part, they may not hesitate to move quickly to a legal claim.
It might also be advisable to think a little about instructions in your caravan or those emailed to your customers. That big sign in your caravan saying that your emergency heating stop button must not be pushed under any circumstances, may not mean much to someone that has limited English.
So, know the nationality of the people you’re renting to and make the effort to get safety instructions (etc) translated into their language.
Cashing in on the Olympics may be a good idea – but make sure you’re thoroughly prepared!

Dear All
Well the sun is shining in Southend for the moment and we are all trying to make the most of it, I have the afternoon off tomorrow to spend with my partner so potentially a curry could be in order!
I believe I will soon be a member of the iphone brigade, bearing in mind I am very untechnical (is that a word?) so I have plenty of people in the office to learn from!
The Team are working hard at the end of the month to convert more sales and to hit our Renewals targets, and then October hits us.
Have a great day
Mike
Dear All
The weekend gone was certainly a colourful experience, what with a trip to Hackney, a run in with the landlord, more police cars than I have ever heard, being chatted up by a very odd woman (not my partner!) among the highlights.
We got back on Sunday and I finally got my hair cut!
Much more to come on this….
Mike
