Living in a park home can be a truly remarkable experience but it may make sense to protect your investment with appropriate parkhome insurance:

  • you may be inclined to think that living in a typically rural environment with likeminded people may mean that you are not exposed to the same types of risk that may be prevalent with more traditional buildings;
  • however, park homes may be just as likely to be at risk from events such as storms and flooding, earthquakes, fires and smoke damage and the like;
  • park home insurance may ensure that you have financial protection in the event that these types of mishaps happen to you and your park home;
  • one of the common misconceptions that some new park home owners may have, is that they can make do with static caravan insurance or some other form of mobile caravan insurance;
  • the fact of the matter though is that if you live in your park home on a permanent basis, then static caravan insurance just won’t give you the cover you need – this type of cover is designed for caravans which are occupied only for few weeks or months of the year for holiday purposes;
  • if you have a park home then you need parkhome insurance;
  • there are two main reasons for this, the first of which is that your park home may be typically of a higher build quality than a static or mobile caravan;
  • the second reason is that your permanent home is likely to be fitted out to a higher standard that a typical static caravan and since it will contain all of your personal belongings, rather than just what you need to take on holiday with you, your contents value will typically be higher too – your insurance cover needs to reflect these values;
  • opting for both home buildings and contents cover from the same provider may entitle you to a discount on your parkhome cover premiums;
  • caravan cover limits for items of high value like computers, entertainments systems, mobile phones and other high spec gadgets, may also be higher and you may find that cover is also available for cash and credit cards;
  • remember though that parkhome insurance may contain terms and conditions which may include that your home may have to be located on a local authority approved site.

I woke up and it was Monday and suddenly it was Thursday. Loads of meetings and lots of work to do – nothing very unusual there really!

Today see’s an early start and lots going on then an early finish and a trip to see Avril Lavigne in concert at the Hammersmith Apollo. Having looked at the internet this morning it looks like she had a few problems last night with some kind of security breach – odd!

The Caravan Insurance season reaches it manic climax this month as the nights draw in and the attraction of taking your Touring Caravan out in the cold see’s them go into storage!

We sually see some sunny weekends before the real onset of winter so try and make the most of them!

Have a great day.

Richard

Dear All

Well the Caravan season is slowing down and, apart from Statics we are quietening on the New Business front. The Renewals are going well and as I say with lots of people’s site renewals coming up we are experiencing an increase in Static New Business.

Congratulations to my sister in law Jude and partner Ray in Australia on the birth of their son Ned, weighing in at 7lbs 14 and healthy. Shame they live so far away!

We have a visit from mother in law on Friday so this means a trip to London for us, I have Friday and Monday off for a bit of relaxation for a change!

Have a great day

Mike
