The Flu Season Begins

Friday, October 23rd, 2009

Dear All

Friday is here, and it has been a suprisingly quick week for us here which has seen decent results for October and a nearing of our targets for the month. I will be looking through some Claims Stats this afternoon for one of our insurers which is an interesting project, and hopefully they show how careful underwriting is a benefit to us all.

Well my beloved Fliss seems to be coming down with a bug, so I hope Jacob is nice to her until I can take over. It is of course that time of year and the Office has seen a number of people battling illness. Indeed, I had a bug this time last year and had to rest up at home, unfortunately I rushed back to work before I was ready and was off again. Just shows you to rest up at the time.

Sian and Jecelda are due back from their jetsetting holidays to Tobago and Singapore respectively on Monday, it has been somewhat quiet without them.

Next week is a busy one with a Company bowling night on Thursday, seeing my parents on Friday, another check up for Jacob and snooker with friends on Halloween night (I will not be dressing up although some say I don’t need to!)

Have a great weekend.

Happy touring

Cover4 – Competitive In A Competitive Market

Tuesday, October 20th, 2009

Dear All

I have been internet browsing this afternoon on several forums and answering people’s queries on touring caravan insurance that they may have, it’s interesting to hear the many different views. A person asked me for an estimate on a touring caravan quote which is difficult to ascertain, as we have a unique rating structure that factors in age, storage area, makes of caravan etc which is constantly reviewed, revised and updated according to our statistical information.

Whilst people argue about cheapest price, I like to think that we are very competitive when our clients “tick all the right buttons” so to speak. We certainly don’t arrive at our premiums by luck, it takes constant reviewing to be undertaken, discussions with insurers, feedback from staff and obviously from you the public. As an example, when we did a static caravan insurance review of our post codes 2 years ago, we realised our insurers needed to widen their scope of areas and reduce premiums to be competitive. The information was discussed with insurers and a swift decision made.

It’s strange that you can get your touring or static caravan quote in 2 minutes and yet it takes constant reviews, stats and competition analysis to arrive at these figures! Insurance may be boring but alot goes into it, I won’t even go into claims information here as that’s a whole new topic and i’ll be here forever!

Happy touring

A blog for saturday afternoon

Saturday, September 26th, 2009

Dear All

Our meeting with insurers went very well this week, a very productive meeting was had with our figures looking good and plans afoot for 2010. We then let our hair down, so to speak, in the evening where one of our party won a decent amount of money at the casino so congratulations to him (I did not have a flutter by the way!)

I also had opportunity to liase with their claims department, much more on this to follow as I am sure you are aware of how vital this area is.

I returned home yesterday to my family whom I missed very much, but my mother in law came down to spend time with Fliss and Jacob to fill the void whilst I was away.

Went into work this morning which was a bit quiet, although that is more about the time of year than anything else.

I hope your weekend is going well, better get back to mine!

Happy touring

Touring Caravans – Freedom And A Wide Blue Yonder

Friday, July 17th, 2009

Dear All

These days touring caravans are big business – simple as that! Industry insiders expect the market to increase dramatically over the next few years as people add up the cost of expensive foreign holidays and trips and decide to take a touring caravan holiday in this country!

Many people have a view that most touring caravanners are pensioners with time on their hands, but this is simply not the case. In fact, we have seen a big increase in touring caravanners in the thirties and forties, many with young families. After all, what better way for children to learn about the great heritage and charm of our country than touring around from venue to venue!

Some of the more adventurous touring caravanners are happy to take a holiday abroad which is a scary prospect for me, and all our touring caravan insurance policies cater for European cover with the maximum being 240 days per year (I can’t imagine who could afford to be in a touring caravan for that long but, hey!).

It’s also good to buy a touring caravan magazine as they have many useful hints and tips as well as some of the best sites to visit, as you can see even myself and my fiancee have got into the spirit!
