Sometimes it feels like forever since I last found the time to blog, Twitter is so easy to interact with, whereas blogging certainly involves more time and thought – I personally blame it on there not being an 8th day of the week. We need one, when creating the world God should have thought more carefully about the number of days in the week.
The Touring Caravan Insurance world is full of activity at the moment, we are striving to offer our Customers not only the best service in the UK Market but also the best prices. We know our rates are very competitive and our levels of cover are high. We do not charge a fee for your new policy and this certainly separates us from a lot of our competitors. Our expert team are based here in sunny Southend and they are always on hand to answer your queries or more importantly to help out in the event of a claim. We pride ourselves on offering the human touch and the feedback from our existing customers suggests that this is something you like. We know from our statistics that although our touring caravan insurance seekers are happy to view their price online and search for quotations you like to buy your policy from a human being – this is something we agree with, yes our website allows you to buy online and have no interaction with us if that is what you like but the majority of our sales are made over the telephone. This is certainly testament to the knowledge and expertise of our Touring Caravan Insurance team.
This week continues to fly by and today see’s a trip into the City of London to see Novae – one of our Underwriters who offer Touring Caravan Insurance, Static Caravan Insurance and Park Home Insurance for us. I am hoping we may be able to tweak a rate here and there today so we are offering an even better deal for you. Fingers crossed and watch this space for further updates – or Twitter where the news will be live – @Cover4caravans.
Those of you who are regular readers of my blog will know I am a bit of a Phil Collins fan and geek!
I read a terribly written article on a blog the other day – I like blogs and blogging but people who simply make things up is not really acceptable. The blogger spent the whole blog moaning about how rubbish they felt Phil Collins was and how his last album, Going Back, totally flopped – thus proving that Phil Collins should have retired years ago. How bizarre I thought and replied. Why? Because that same album reached number 1 in the UK Album charts and in many other Countries. So I asked – how on earth do you want to actually judge success? Make it personal – no problems but not if you are quoting facts that are simply not true!
I worked from home yesterday and had a very productive day, in the afternoon I had a Governor visit at the Junior School and then a Full Governing Body meeting at the next door Infant School – it was awesome to see both schools really doing well and general high levels of enthusiasm in both environments. Ofsted are quite right you know our teachers have to be aiming to be “outstanding”, why? Because they are educating our children, the next generations and if our teachers are only average (or satisfactory as Ofsted say) then how will our children be the best they can be and fulfill their highest potential? I cannot understand why some parts of the teaching profession do not see this. Bizarre.
Have a great day.
Richard
Within one of the information pages on our website (not the blog) we have placed a rather cool Hedgehog. Find it and tell us where it is located and if you are correct you will win a £15.00 Next voucher. There are two prizes up for grabs!
Enter now! Good luck!

Monday arrives, the weekend that proceeded it simply sped past. We went over to sunny Ruislip and saw my parents. The rain actually stayed away most of the day and we took the boys and the pup to Ruislip Lido. We even went on the little train – something I probbaly have not done for over 20 years! It always amazes me that when I return to my home ground that I never see anyone I used to know. Bizarre.
I wonder what my old school friends are now doing? I have tried to make contact with some but it is like trying to get blood out of a stone – maybe they just do not want to speak to me. I did not think i was that bad at school, was I?
So, should anyone be reading this blog from my days at Northwood School (Potter Street, Northwood) or Ladybankes (Dawlish Drive, Ruislip I think?) then please drop me a line via this blog or come and fine me on Twitter – @cover4caravans.
This week is a short one for time in the office asI am off to Nerja in Spain on Thursday on business – sadly I am back on Friday so do not even get 24 hours to enjoy the warmer climate – but we will still have some constructive meetings and some fun. I certainly need a little tipple of Sangria to keep me alive!
Before the excitement of running away from the office commences we have a busy week with lots going on – we are having meetings with all our staff at the moment and finding out what they see as our SWOT’s so as always this is really eye opening and good fun.
Have a good day.
Richard
Where did the nice weather go? We are certainly seeing a cold spell here in not so sunny Southend and the April Showers are more like April down pours!
The Caravan Insurance season is in full swing and we are working hard to ensure that we remain as competitive as possible, we have tweaked a few of our rates and this is proving popular with our customers which is good.
Our caption competition is well and truly open and you could win one of the new Amazon Kindle Touch Book readers. All you need to do to enter is go onto our website, look at the most recent newsletter and email us in your entry. Good Luck!
This week see’s a busy week crammed full of Health & Safety stuff, Insurance, Dentist visits and some SWOT meetings with our staff – we love receiving their feedback prior to our Board Strategy Days so we can ensure we are making this a great place to work – one of our core values.
I also have a School Governor meeting tomorrow where we will be looking to sign off the new budgets that have bee proposed.
Google continues to play havoc with our organic rankings but our friends at Speedie Consultants continue to work hard to bring our sites back to the top of the screens! It is like a secret science to us non IT thinkers!
Did you get away over the Easter period? If you did we hope you had a great time and are back in love with your caravanning hobby after what seemed like the never ending winter period!
Have a great day.

It is always a struggle returning from a week off. We had a lovely time down at Park Holidays’ Golden Sands site in Dawlish Warren. The Static we stayed in was great – plenty of room for the 4 of us and the caravan was clean and well furnished. We had heating in each room and we had already decided to tak our own duvets as we knew the April nights were likely to be very cold!
I am a big fan of anything that is well managed and well run and the site was great. The food in the club house was great value and the staff were friendly. I even had a few games of Bingo and actually enjoyed myself. Did I win? Not a chance!
The indoor and outdoor swimming pools were great and to the excitment of my two boys the outdoor part of the pool was also open and they loved the extremes of temperature!
The life guards on duty made you feel safe and also did not kill the fun – they worked to a real world set of Health & Safety rules which is rare to come across this day and age!
The area is well known to us and we enjoyed days out at the beach, Crealy’s Adventure Park, Cockington Village, Paignton Zoo and the local castle.
We had a wonderful dinner at the nearby Smugglers Inn and the carvery there was just simply belly filling! I certainly have to come back and try and go on a strict diet!
The pup survived her first stay in the kennels and I think we all had a well earned breack from each other!
As you will know – we are experts in Caravan Insurance – whether it be your Static or Tourers – this is because we enjoy the same passion as you. Simple as that.
A big thank you to Park Holidays and the weather man as we had mostly dry and sunny days!
Have fun.
Richard
