Monday Morning Views

Dear All

Well I had a challenging weekend, my fiancee was ill with one of the nasty bugs going around and my son has his first tooth coming through and is in some pain and having trouble sleeping, so we had a bit of a quiet weekend at home which was nice and cancel our previous plans.

This week sees a trip to our insurers to meet their Claims Team for a review and a night out. We feel this is very important to look at this aspect as having researched our competitors many Companies do not even mention their Claims procedures. We hope to have some innovations to make your claims experience with us as pain free and jargon free as possible, with a conclusion that satisfies you.

Some of my Team are going Go Karting on Friday night, although after a night out in Nottingham I will be going home to spend time with my family. My mother in law is over on Thursday and we are going to the O2 next week to watch the X Factor Live Tour.

This weekend will probably see ne going to the tip as I am getting rid of some of the junk in the shed, and of course it’s Mothers Day as well so I will be seeing her on Sunday.

The weekend’s online figures were not bad and we are definatley getting better numbers coming in.

Have a great week!

The Season Hots Up!

Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010

Dear All

And so the weather finally appears to be getting better after a very rainy and horrid Sunday. I have to be honest in this country the slightest mention of rain has people cowering in fear, and me and my family ventured out to Southend High Street like the hardy souls we are!

We also visited the park on Saturday, my son really enjoys it there and so we had a nice walk to and from. It was the perfect tonic to another busy week, as the end of the month is always manic with stats to do and reports to file away.

Monday heralded the much vaunted beginning of the Caravan Season and already things are picking up, the weekend brought some sales and as we approach a Bank Holiday at the end of the month I expect us to get a bit busy, hope the Team are ready.

Me and my fiancee are off to the X Factor live at the O2 in the next few weeks, we are going to have a day in London sightseeing, spot of lunch etc. Isn’t is bad that I live 45 minutes from London and yet I never go there!

Have a great week and Happy Touring

NEC Show Heralds The New Caravan Season

Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010

Dear All

As you may have read we visited the NEC Caravan Show on Wednesday last week to have a look at what is around in the market, and I have to say I was not overwhelmed by the experience. From a business perspective, we learned that our competitors have nothing new up their sleeves and without being cruel some of the insurers were experiencing very lukewarm numbers visiting their stands. We also learned that the cost of sponsoring this show are not really the best value for money.

Interestingly the Park Home and Statics section of the Show is getting bigger, which is a good thing as we have a certain new product launching soon!

We were also very sensible this year as we only spent a couple of hours there, to be honest it would not have held my interest for too much longer. I will also say that it was busier this year, even on a weekday, I can only imagine the weekends figures.

Still, the Spring Fair is coming soon and the best factor is that it’s outside and we have lots of exciting things lined up!

Another Busy Week

Monday, February 22nd, 2010

Dear All

Tomorrow is a day I am not looking forward to, I have a visit to the dreaded dentist and to be honest I am not a fan!

The weekend was excellent, I saw an old colleague of mine whom I haven’t seen for around 2 years and had a good catch up, it’s funny reliving old times and people you have known and had good moments with. I’m not that old but it was nice to go back down memory lane for a couple of hours.

We had a productive meeting with Underwriters last Thursday and we have placed our first risks on cover with them so they are very pleased, we are now seeing volumes coming through and business is picking up, tourers in particular is booming. It is now that the hard work put in during the quiet winter months on our rating and areas really comes into force.

Off to the NEC on Wednesday to have a look round, you will probably be seeing lots of pics from the Show and reviews coming soon.

The countdown is also on to the Spring Fair in Newark, a very exciting time for the Team here at Cover4Caravans.

Happy touring

The Week So Far

Wednesday, February 17th, 2010

Dear All

I hope you are all having a good week, Dagenham had a rare victory at the weekend over Bournemouth which pleased me almost as much as the excellent carvery lunch we had. Sunday was snooker day and against all odds (especially the way I played!) I got a draw, and in case you think I was unromantic on Valentine’s Day I did buy treats for my fiancee and am taking her out for dinner tonight.

I also had a truly wonderful day off on Monday, I did not do a lot and perhaps that was the point, we had some walks with our son and a homecooked meal in the evening.

I am off to London tomorrow for a meeting with a new insurer and including lunch, we know the guys there very well and I am sure they will take us to a nice restaurant. We are getting busier and the Team are working hard at converting the leads that we get.

Well home soon to see the family (including mother in law) and then out for a well earned bit of couples time off!

Have a good rest of week

Mike
