A New Month Dawns

Wednesday, September 1st, 2010

Dear All

September already! This must have been the quickest year I can remember but it has been very good so far. I hope the Bank Holiday weekend brought good times for everyone, I watched Dagenham snatch a draw from the grasp of victory, we were mutch the better side but Tranmere did score a cracking free kick with 2 minutes to go. We had a nice 3 course carvery though they upset me by saying I could only have either beef or chicken and not both, so what is the point of a carvery! They did allow me to have both but as a loyal fan for years I was a bit frustrated (well hungry really!)

On Sunday I met some friends and had a nice Chinese in the evening from my local favourite, and then had a relaxing Bank Holiday monday with the family. My son is suffering slightly as he has his back teeth coming through, I feel so sorry for him and a little helpless.

September is traditionally the last Caravan month of the year and we need a good end to what has been a cracking year. We have worked very hard to be where we are and the only way is up! I have completed the monthly reports today for August and all looks good, I appreciate the efforts of my Team.

Well, here we go again!

Bank Holidays, Football and Work

Thursday, August 26th, 2010

Dear All

Well we have a busy Bank Holiday weekend upon us, although as it is our month end I may end up coming into the office on Saturday to catch up on all of the stats and reports. A popular man at home I most certainly am not! Still needs must…

To the brighter side I am going to football on Saturday as Dagenham play Tranmere in our first ever League One game and I am one of the sponsors. I am very excited and looking forward to seeing my first live game this season, although I have a somewhat cautious approach to it all.

The rest of this week sees meetings and a review of our Communications Strategy tomorrow and then a night out at a local Chinese restaurant. I am certainly looking forward to the Bank Holiday although I will try and have a cheeky check of the stats without the other half seeing me!!

Have a relaxed, enjoyable weekend whatever you may be up to!

The Joy Of Parenting

Tuesday, August 24th, 2010

Dear All

I have to say I am a very proud man as my son is now walking a number of steps and he is so excited about it! It is one of the proudest parts of being a parent, seeing the joy and pride in his face when he does this.

It does of course tire him out and he has been (touch wood) sleeping a lot better due to his constant activity. These are the fun days of parenthood so I imagine we will be at the park with him running around very soon.

I am out with the other half on Friday, we have booked a table at a very popular Chinese restaurant and am very much looking forward to this.

Well workwise I am doing lots of planning ahead and myself and Sophie are sitting down to get our thoughts in place and there may be some difficult conversations but all for the good of the Team. We are very focused on what we need to do and where we want to be so it’s now a case of getting on with it.

Have a great day

Tomorrow is a New Day

Sunday, August 22nd, 2010

Hi All

Well Sunday is almost over and the weekend has gone, we have just relaxed and spent quality time together. My son has taken his first steps and we have some footage on camera, something for the future.

I have a Team meeting tomorrow to motivate us for the final few weeks of the season and we need to reflect on where we are and where we are going. The Team have as always worked very hard and we have arranged an evening out in October to say well done to all. We are developing all the time and working harder than ever to stay ahead of the game. These are exciting times and we need to look forward, we have some plans ahead already.

Dagenham are yet to win a game in League One but I will be there next week, and I am already very excited about sampling the delights of the three course buffet and seats in the Sponsors box. It is our first home league game in this division, wish us luck!

Thanks

Mike

Weekend, Team Develoment and Relaxation

Friday, August 20th, 2010

Dear All

Friday is here already and I am very looking forward to a “boys night in” with my son tonight as my partner is out for the night to leave as home alone. What will we get up to? it will seem weird when he goes to bed and I am on my own, a very rare occurrence and I may be naughty and get a Chinese!

We have had a busy week with some strategic planning and development for the Team. Sometimes tough decisions need to be made for the good of us all, and we have long term plans afoot to keep us competitive and it is a real eye opener.

Sophie Morris has been appointed our Assistant Manager this week and we are all very proud of her achievements.

I plan to relax a little tomorrow after a busy week including lots of meetings and Jacob’s immunisations etc

Have a great weekend

Mike
