Well the week has just flown by, team meetings and One to Ones have been done and today I have the fun job of doing the action points and we can then see organise ourselves for the month.

I hope everyone enjoyed the second “video blog”, it’s quite good fun after the initial bout of nerves (I am not the most photogenic person in the world!) and it’s nice to be able to explain behind the scenes of an insurance broker. Our New Business Team will be attending the ExCel Caravan show in London which has excited them, they will be taking lots of photos and they have a BIG project to do when they return.

As mentioned we have been testing our new product and all is looking good, we are very excited by this development as it opens up new doors for the Company.

On a personal note my son has a bit of a cold this week which may see him miss nursery tomorrow, I need to call them to check what the procedure is as it’s his first proper day.

Tonight sees a visit to the Nations favourite curry house, that being Wetherspoons, the menu has expanded since I last remember it and as sad as it is I am looking forward to it!

I must apologise for my recent lack of blogs, my only excuse is that this has been a very busy week and time has escaped me!

This week has seen two visits to my son’s nursery for the first time, I think we were more nervous than him, but he has enjoyed himself and yesterday he cried when we took him home!

It’s very much a hard learning curve, trying to realise how grown up your children get in such a small amount of time, but that’s what it’s all about.

Today is Friday and it is a relaxed day in the office, I have been catching up on some tasks ahead of some product testing next week with a very exciting new product. Keep your eyes peeled!

I have been preparing for my Team 121′s on Monday, this is a new year with a new focus and I will be using my coaching skills to the max for these and then Team meetings during the week.

Well it’s a cold Monday in Southend after a distinctly chilly weekend, i’m told the weather will improve by the end of the week but we wait and see on this!

The staff party was excellent on Friday, good food and company, though only downside being that we got to bed at 12.30 and our son woke at 4.43am! Still that’s kids for you.

Today sees a meeting of Senior Management and the general busy Monday with bugs going around the office, hope it doesn’t affect me!

Well I am back in the office today following a fruitful trip to London to visit one of our Insurers, we made excellent progress and also discussed claims, which is a very important area and one that we take very seriously.

On the way home I saw an advert for a budget travel policy and, being an insurance broker, my first thought was “what cover are they offering?” Cheap policies may be attractive but it is important to look at what is behind the price. If you invest your hard earned money in a caravan, surely you want the best protection available? I have seen far too many of these cheap offerings and it still frustrates me to think that people do not totally understand the cover thet are being offered.

Well that’s a rant over! Tomorrow sees the staff party, we have this in the New Year which is a good thing as January is quite a depressing month financially and a free night out is always welcome!

Well it’s a very mild Tuesday here in Southend and I am putting together my notes for a meeting with one of our valued Insurance partners tomorrow, this will be the first review of the year and we can put a plan in place for 2012.

My son continues to be a maverick and certainly his speech is improving at an unbelievable rate which is good as he is going to nursery in February. I still can’t believe he is that old!!

Well the New Year is very much upon us and hopefully you have seen our new website branding, if yuo have any comments we would be delighted to hear from you.

I went to the Dagenham game against Southend on Monday, it was a great atmosphere in the away end and we should have won but had to settle with a point in the end.

It was an excellent festive period and I spent lots of time with my family, we had Xmas dinner at home this year and very much enjoyed the time off. My son is off to nursery next month and I have organised the “settling in” sessions, it’s a new and excting time for our family and I am looking forward to the challenges ahead.
