Tomorrow is a New Day

Sunday, August 22nd, 2010

Hi All

Well Sunday is almost over and the weekend has gone, we have just relaxed and spent quality time together. My son has taken his first steps and we have some footage on camera, something for the future.

I have a Team meeting tomorrow to motivate us for the final few weeks of the season and we need to reflect on where we are and where we are going. The Team have as always worked very hard and we have arranged an evening out in October to say well done to all. We are developing all the time and working harder than ever to stay ahead of the game. These are exciting times and we need to look forward, we have some plans ahead already.

Dagenham are yet to win a game in League One but I will be there next week, and I am already very excited about sampling the delights of the three course buffet and seats in the Sponsors box. It is our first home league game in this division, wish us luck!

Thanks

Mike

Weekend, Team Develoment and Relaxation

Friday, August 20th, 2010

Dear All

Friday is here already and I am very looking forward to a “boys night in” with my son tonight as my partner is out for the night to leave as home alone. What will we get up to? it will seem weird when he goes to bed and I am on my own, a very rare occurrence and I may be naughty and get a Chinese!

We have had a busy week with some strategic planning and development for the Team. Sometimes tough decisions need to be made for the good of us all, and we have long term plans afoot to keep us competitive and it is a real eye opener.

Sophie Morris has been appointed our Assistant Manager this week and we are all very proud of her achievements.

I plan to relax a little tomorrow after a busy week including lots of meetings and Jacob’s immunisations etc

Have a great weekend

Back To The Office

Wednesday, August 18th, 2010

Dear All

I was on holiday yesterday and had a very relaxed day with the family, went into town and spent some money in M & S. I also went to the new Barclays in Southend and have to say I found their service very good, I was seen in a very short space of time by somebody who seemed to want to be there. I believe that is the key to customer service, listening to your clients and showing them you care and want to help them.

Anyway I have TCF Meetings with the Team this morning and then a Managers Meeting followed in the afternoon by an interview.

Oh and in the meantime I have to go home at lunch as Jacob has a doctors appointment for some jabs. I am not particularly worried about this as he needs to have it done but the same cannot be said for my partner!!

Have a great day

Fridays, Daggers and Work

Friday, August 13th, 2010

Dear All

Yes it’s Friday and I am taking the “other half” out tonight to celebrate 1 year of parenting (and as my mother in law says we are still fairly sane) and hopefully a curry. We are then going to Romford to buy my son’s pressie and have a bit of time together which I am very much looking forward to.

Sunday is Arsenal’s first Premier League game at Liverpool so that will be interesting. Dagenham have the weekend off as our game vs Exeter was postponed folloing the sad death of Adam Stansfield whom I have seen play in the Conference on many occasions.

Next week is busy, I have updates with staff and a Senior Management meeting, Tuesday off and Wednesday another Managers meeting and my son’s immunisation. More on this to follow I dare say…I also have staff reviews with the team on Wednesday. Busy times but rewarding

The week has been ok as we are nearing the end of the caravan season, if it does rain over the weekend the better for us as people stay in and buy their insurances!! Cynical I know.

Mother and father in law are enjoying time with my son today so that’s all good as well!

What A Difference A Year Makes

Wednesday, August 11th, 2010

Dear All

Today is my sons first birthday and he has just gone to bed after an excellent day together, he had his favourite tea of pizza and garlic bread with chocolate cake to finish (well I believe in treating him) and I have been thinking over the past year. It makes me realise that having a family is the most important thing you can have, and the love you have for your children is the purest in life. You do everything to protect them and watching him grow into a little character is a very warm feeling.

I think Frasier Crane said this “you don’t just love your children, you fall in love with them” and never has that sentiment been truer than today. I am a very proud father and love spending quality time with my family.

Anyway the Team did very well without me and it’s back to work tomorrow, roll on the weekend!
