Dear All

As you may have read we visited the NEC Caravan Show on Wednesday last week to have a look at what is around in the market, and I have to say I was not overwhelmed by the experience. From a business perspective, we learned that our competitors have nothing new up their sleeves and without being cruel some of the insurers were experiencing very lukewarm numbers visiting their stands. We also learned that the cost of sponsoring this show are not really the best value for money.

Interestingly the Park Home and Statics section of the Show is getting bigger, which is a good thing as we have a certain new product launching soon!

We were also very sensible this year as we only spent a couple of hours there, to be honest it would not have held my interest for too much longer. I will also say that it was busier this year, even on a weekday, I can only imagine the weekends figures.

Still, the Spring Fair is coming soon and the best factor is that it’s outside and we have lots of exciting things lined up!

Good morning All

I hope you had a good weekend, mine was very quiet and I spent most of Saturday in the kitchen and feeding my son his lunch, a delicious tomato and pasta meal. Needless to say it went everywhere!!! He is a very messy eater but at least he has an appetite for new things, he now has 2 square meals a day plus his milk.

The weekend’s go so fast that it’s scarcely believable that Monday is here, currently looking like it will be a quiet week as apart from some training nothing is in my diary. This will change I can assure you! February is looking busy as I am attending the NEC Show in Birmingham, going to Nottingham to visit insurers and have a meeting with another insurer here. And Valentine’s Day!

Still, Arsenal and Dagenham won their respective matches at the weekend which took away the disappointment of England’s abject collapse in the Fourth Test yesterday.

Good morning All

Perusing the forums and sites this morning I see that despite these lean economic times Elddis are launching 3 new Touring Caravans which will debut at the NEC Show in Birmingham next February. This is a huge boost for the Touring Caravan industry in the UK at the moment andshows the faith from Elddis in the market.

However, due to touring caravan manufacturers cutting back on the number of units made in the face of the recession if you reserve your 2010 van now you can expect to take delivery in June 2010! It appears that manufacturers scaled back production too much in the face of their concerns for the Touring Caravan market, and are now rushing to arrange more vans to be made.

Many Touring Caravanners are going to have buy a used van at the moment so the message from the Touring Caravan Industry is order quickly to avoid disappointment!
