Autumn Caravan and Motorhome Fair & My Birthday!

Thursday, September 2nd, 2010

Hello

It only seems yesterday when Sian and I agreed to attend the Autumn Fair, and with another team member Jade joining us it should result in another great trip! Leaving tomorrow from work and heading up to Newark, Nottingham, I have been begged by the girls to go to MacDonalds for the roadtrip (not that I needed much persuading)  then a 3 hour trip commences. We actually enjoyed ourselves last time and I know I sound surprised but for two 20 year old girls it is quite a change for us at a weekend. We are also giving away a great pair of camping chairs every hour so please stop by and submit your entry or just to say hello.

It is the most important day of the year next week 7th September (my birthday if you haven’t already heard), and I think its causing a lot more pressure on my boyfriend than he originally thought. My fussy ways are starting to take its toll on him and I can see he will crack soon, but as long as I get something nice I am fine. I am really not spoilt but I like and dislike certain things and have not mastered how to hide a disappointed face yet. So I will wish him luck and be grateful in whatever I receive.

I am sure I will be on here soon telling the tales of the birthday event and the Autumn Caravan & Motorhome fair,

Fishing trip, childrens party, parkhomes

Monday, August 16th, 2010

Hello

The weekends over already, and what an eventful weekend I had. Me and my partner Simon ventured up to Witham for my nephews 3rd Birthday party on Saturday, with the birthday boy obsessed with Toy Story 3 at the moment we had buzz light year and Woody driving everyone mad. But as they say its all for the kids.

Then Sunday quickly loomed and we planned to go on a fishing trip in Leigh-on-sea with another couple, it was one of the scariest episodes  I have ever experienced. First off we put the sails up far too early which made us drift into a big chunk of cement, then we managed to get off this bit and drifted further away and was then caught on a grassy verge. Luckily we were saved by two fellow sailors, and managed to break free. But as we were so out of control we couldnt help them break free from the verge, which was quite amusing as now we were free and they were all stuck. We finally got the outboard working and ditched the idea of sailing, and off we went out to sea, as the tide was so strong we only went out a little way and started to get a bit worried so we turned around and went back to the mooring. To be honest I didn’t care at last I was safe, or so I thought. We did a bit of fishing and crabbing caught about 5 crabs and 2 Sea Bass which was quite good. The tide was going back out so we had to move quite quickly and get back into the dinghy, so in a bit of a rush I put all my belongings in the boat and tried to hop in. Those of you who have seen me would know I am not the tallest of people and managed to get my leg caught, so I had one leg in the main boat one leg in the dinghy, all was well until a large gust of wind came and the dinghy was rapidly taken away from the boat and I almost did the splits. Luckily I managed to jump back into the boat and save myself from falling into the water (that would not have been fun), but now I have a lovely black bruise on the inside of my leg. But its all part of the fun isn’t it.

Hopefully we will have a few more Parkhome quotes this week, its all a bit of a wait and see game when a new scheme takes place. But  I am sure Sian our Parkhome Guru will have not trouble in converting our first one this week…….no pressure.

Dragons Den @ The Billericay School, Hospitals & Mobile / Park Home Insurance

Wednesday, August 4th, 2010

Yesterday afternoon saw me invited to be a “Dragon” at The Billericay School who were hosting a Dragon’s Den for part of the school holidays Gifted & Talented “Summer School” Event. I have not returned to a Secondary School for many years and I must admit that I had found myself extremely nervous about attending!

However my nerves were soon put at ease when we were greated by Mr Murnane – one of most enthusiastic teachers I have come across. The couple of hours flew by as we saw 6 presentations from children in Years 6 & 7 – all from a variety of schools across Billericay. Their presentations were fantastic, sadly we had to chose a winner – always the right thing to do and I think the right new product won – hey I would buy it tomorrow!

This afternoon sees me off to see the Consultant about my knee pain – could be my 4th Cartlige Tear – but I am not an expert so we will just have to wait and see.

Our new Mobile / Pak Home Insurance scheme has launched and I am very excited by this, my team have been working hard to deliver this new product  – as with all new developments we have expeienced delays but we get there in the end! I am hoping this will produce some good new business for us and I feel it is the last product we need to complete our Caravan offering!

The new football season looms and Friday sees my team, Watford, live on the TV against Norwich so I can sit back in my arm chair and hopefully enjoy the game – we need to get off to a good start this year.

Surprises – isn’t life great when people continually surprise you? Those who make you laugh & think are the people we all need to take care of!

Have a great day and keep smiling!

Richard
